Digital Audio
Digital Audio is the sound that has been converted into a digital format. Digital audio plays a crucial role in various forms of media production, including music production, film soundtracks, podcasts, and radio broadcasting.
This is my successful project I completed in second year. This audio documentary was based on the theme “a journey to remember” which for me was the first time my stage school Stage Academy won their first ever All Ireland Title in Spring 2014. I completed this documentary by interviewing two of my friends, Shauna Walsh and Niamh Hannon who experienced this win with me. We all perform together and have done for years so this was fun to remember this great achievement.
I began by brainstorming idea’s, from the get go I was sold on wanting to complete the documentary on my journey of winning the All Ireland title with my team, however I was just unsure on what way to navigate through the story. I spoke with Ian and we got to hear some past students work, this inspired me a lot and I began to see what way I would structure this story.
I wrote some questions down on what I thought the listener would like to know and what questions you would understand and learn from the best. I got Shauna and Niamh over to my house to interview them and I used a Zoom to record what they had to say. After 2 days of recording questions and answers I listened back and picked out what the best questions and answers were to add to my audio documentary.
I edited the sound on Adobe Audition, I got some sound effects from pixabay and added music. I completed the documentary along with a report for our Lecturer.
Stage Academy Newbridge All Ireland Variety win 2014.
Design Fundamentals
Design fundamentals are the basic principles and elements that form the foundation of any design discipline, whether it’s graphic design, industrial design etc. This below is the book cover I designed for the movie Hairspray. We used the double diamond process to complete our project successfully. The double diamond is a process of discovering your options, defining your decision, develop it into something great and deliver your completed project.
To begin I first discovered what movies I would like to make a book cover for. I picked four of my favourite movies that I could create a book cover for, they were The Shawshank Redemption, Singing in the Rain, Wonder and then of course Hairspray. I decided on Hairspray because I am so passionate about the theatre, performing arts and had just seen the live show the same year that I created this so that gave me great inspiration.
I then moved to my define stage where I officially picked Hairspray and I brainstormed all the design elements I could add into the book cover, the colours etc. Then in my development stage it was time to put these thoughts to paper, I sketched a few idea’s and brought them to life. The develop stage is all about trial and error, so here is where you get to test out design and colours and see what fits it best. Then we deliver the project in full.
Photography
Welcome to photography. Photography is the art and practice of capturing and creating images using a camera. It involves using various techniques, such as composition, lighting and focus, to capture moments, tell stories, and convey emotions through visual imagery. The project below I completed in my 1st year of college. This is a photo essay and I decided to complete it with images of weather and reflect it on people emotions. We are like the weather we go through phases of darkness and sunshine. Please enjoy some of the images that were included in this photo essay, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
